Apparently this one lovely jackass customer whom I've had to deal with in the past came in today. Apparently he made the manager cry from his rudeness.
Sounds like an average day.

You see the problem is, our store is located in the "rich people district" and since it seems to be near impossible to be wealthy and kind at the same time, we get quite alot of arrogant dicks who can't be pleased no matter what.

Needless to say, I am not looking forward to tomorrow. I got my paycheck finally, but I still don't have my new debit card. Which I need. Badly.

Anyone else find Mrs.Butterworth syrup bottles creepy?

The new pokemon launched this week. Apparently it's good. I'd love to snag a copy, but I'm sure all the stores will be sold out for a long time. That and someone stole my debit card.
Currently I am watching the pokemon cartoon show. I see it still remains silly as ever. And the animation has gotten alot better and sillier. Something that doesn't happen often, especially with long-running cartoon shows. Heh, it still has a funny westernized script.

Anyway, enough of that.

Here's a background I made for the cartoon I've been working on. I must say I am actually, dare I say, proud of how nice it looks thus far.

So we shall be attending that today.

This little bloke is for a cartoon I have just started working on utilizing two new songs by my good friend Mentally Detached.

I will probably post a preview up at some point or more screenshots later so watch this space (those who care).
It's going to be more along the lines of the experimental flash cartoons I usually do except this one has somewhat of a silly story to tell.

Okay I am back home.
Great concert. I really do like the Killers. They put actual melodies to their rock instead of just slapping some beats together and whining into a microphone like most popular "musicians" these days do.
They're like an american Franz Ferdinand.

Unfortunately Mike and I were as far from the stage as possible. Beyond nosebleed seats.

But we managed to sneak close enough to hear their hits near the end, so all in all it was very awesome.

So I am sitting here, listening to "Hamburger Lady" by Throbbing Gristle (weird old industrial band), and thinking "Oh I have forgotten something"

But I DIDN'T!

Currently there is cuntastic show on Cartoon Network. It's like Pokemon with bikes. Starring a hyperactive little kid and his bike that he calls Flame Kaiser. The entire show seems to be little than an attempt to get some new catchphrases going. The kid even shouts orders to his bike as if he somehow DOESNT CONTROL IT with his DAMNED FEET. And the bad guy is some colorful spikey-haired peice of crap with a voice like an evil Fonzie.

Why do they air this shit and then cancel Ed Edd n Eddy? Has the network lost it's mind?

Oh wait......Re-Animated.

Man what a week of ups and downs.

Lets start with the ups.

UP:
- Saw Meet the Robinsons by Disney. It was freaking great. I can understand it probably not being everyone's cup of tea due to its very silly and fast-paced nature, but man oh man did I enjoy it. Hilarious gags, gorgeous computer animation, a wiggy plot, and its been a long times since I've seen a movie that was literally OVERFLOWING with creativity. Best thing I think Disney has made since Lilo and Stitch.

- Saw THE GRINDHOUSE. A movie everyone should see. Gory, shocking, loud, violent and sexy. Few films can have a perfect balance of those elements. But this movie delivered. Rodriguez movie was the perfect campy shoot-em-up homage to horror/gory scifi zombie flicks containing some of nastiest, grossest and most hilarious zombies to grace the movie screen. Getting to see Tarantino as a hideous zombie with dripping testicles get blown backwards through a door was a beautiful experience. Quentin Tarentino's movie was a dark, creepy and very grabs-you-by-the-nuts sociopath flick. Best thing I think Kurt Russel has ever been in. THANKSGIVING.

- Saw the Aqua Teen movie. Wtf lol.

- Finished my cartoon for the ILaugh Shortfest contest.

- FatKat animation are actually interested in me. Oh what an opportunity this could be. Gene is a very nice chap.

DOWN:

- Had to wipe my ass with "nature" while hiking. I wont go into it, but lets just say, I feel sorry for anyone walking over that spot. Or near it for that matter.

- Found out Ed Edd n Eddy is getting canceled. So dies one of the last shows of quality on cartoon network. This show outlasted all of the other Cartoon Cartoons.

- Got banned off of DeviantArt. Apparently DeviantArt supports bestiality, and speaking against it is a bannable offense. Heaven forbid people fight against sick fucks who rape their pets.

- Found out that the Ilaugh short film festival doesn't except .SWF's. Why? I dont know. Every other file that has ever existed since the creation of computers is accepted. But a website that promotes flash cartoons does not accept flash files. THEN, in the process of trying to upload the .SWF, Firefox crashed. Then my PC crashed. Now I cant upload anything to the internet without the PC freezing. Flash no longer works now. So not only did I spend like a month of spare time making this cartoon, but it has now broken my computer and ruined my ability to make cartoons in the first place. Couple this with the fact that I emailed them the flash, and they probably will disqualify me since of course I cant buy a new PC, has completely shattered my soul. So there goes any chance of winning anything, and now I am stuck again with nothing to show for my work. The words "enraged" "despair" and "destroyed" don't come anywhere near close to how I feel right now. I suppose if they dont accept my entry I'll just have to get it onto AlbinoBlackSheep somehow and smile and pretend nothing is wrong.

Luckily I only have a 4 to 10 shift tomorrow which means I can talk to Gene from FatKat studios again.

And hey, I found the uncut DVD of "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker"
The uncut version featuring Joker getting impaled and other differences. 6 dollars at Walgreens. Can yah believe it?

Well, time to go to bed.

In other news, HOLY CRAP, some of the best flash animation I think has yet to grace the internet.

I watched Metropolis last night. Damn it was good. Long though, and slow. But what a tale. And it WAS slightly based on the 1927 Fritz Lang film. Beautiful animation and a great homage to Tezuka's memory. Now I just need to watch Steamboy and Mindgame.

Voltron is on. Anyone miss G-Force? That show kicked ass.

If only we were all weiner-dogs our problems would be solved.

NEW RATATOUILLE TRAILER

Yes! Yes! YES! Man I've been waiting for a new trailer for a while! Good god, the rendering is gorgeous. And Brad Bird is clearly the voice of the "bad guy" in the film. The short cat-like cook/manager guy. The crowd scene at the beginning of the trailer made me go :O
I paused it just to see how much stuff was going on at once. Such lovely stylized animation. Can't wait can't wait can't wait can't wait.

SAW just came on the SciFi network. I am shocked they managed to only cut out the swear words and none of the violence. I mean these are the people who made FRANKENFISH for Pete's sake.
I do love the SAW movies though. A guilty pleasure. Grotesque gore with action and often brilliant storytelling. How the filmmakers have managed to make all three movies tie together so well is an incredible feat on itself. I hope Saw IV is as good as the last three. The fact that only one guy is left and has to escape Jigsaw's little House of Horrors is open for some brilliant things if done right. Will it be done right? Considering their track record I think so.

Haven't seen either. I've been meaning to catch up on all the big epic japanese animation movies I've been missing. And now I can.
Tonight I shall watch Metropolis.

TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL.

The local free newspaper "Creative Loafing" or as it once was known "The Weekly Planet" has used the last few weeks to determine the best Pizza Places here in Tampa. They had done this previously with hot wings and thats how I discovered my favorite restaurant "The Firehouse"
So they narrowed it down to the 16 best places and finally the final four. One of the food places in the final four was a little place called "Bono's Pizza" in a slightly creepy little happy sect called Westchase Village.
Westchase Village is one of those little blobs of apartment complexes that are all designed so that everything is symmetrical and surround tiny parks and thrift shops. Westchase Village however has slightly more upscale stuffaroo.
Bono's Pizza was lovely. A small dimly lit room with the scent of garlic and wine in the air, a wine rack against the wall, and a good view of the giant water fountain outside. My father and I ate a pizza called "The Big Apple"

Damn delicious. And one of those rare foods that tastes better as it cools off. Really fantastic. And a HUGE pizza pie.

The general consensus is that the Hills Have Eyes 2 is the worst sequel done in a long time. But can it top the shockingly bad Men in Black 2? Or as I like to call it "one funny joke in 2 hours of waste"
MIB II broke my heart. :( I mean the original was so good. A perfect blend of comedy and scifi.

Tomorrow is my day off. Unfortunately it is soured by the fact that I have to close on Tuesday. And if its anything like last Tuesday, it will be me stuck in the store with the angry old woman for 4 hours after we close doing all the work while she attempts to stuff candy bars into the already overflowing candy rack. Fucking astonishing.

Part of me wants to simply not go in at all. But then I'd have to find a new place to work. Ugh. I have yet to sell anything with my cafepress shop, so I'm not even bothering with it anymore. And I sure as ropeskipping hell am not shelling out cash monthly for a fancier shop.

Despite noone watching anime on adult swim, and adult swim constantly mocking this fact, they sure did make a pretty cool commercial for Blood. My brother bought the comic book (I am NOT calling it manga), and I read through it. All I got was that some girl working for the government has to kill vampires all over the world or something. Lots of blood and nudity. Good artwork though.

Other than the ilaugh animation contest, I think my efforts need to be placed into the monster book I'm making. A silly book about different kinds of monsters and things and odd stories about the aforementioned monsters and things.




I am glad they are finally showing a different BLADES OF GLORY trailer. They kept reshowing the old one so often I was afraid those were the only funny parts of the movie and they were overcompensating.




Someone needs to remake Inspector gadget. And I dont mean changing it entirely. Simply make it a bit cooler. Give Gadget some weaponry, and more of a athletic physique. Make him cool. I mean he's a robot. A detective robot. He was cool already, and there's still so much potential for the character.
But dont change his personality. Gadget is goof. He has to remain a goof. Thats what made him so fun. His complete obliviousness to the things around him and failure to realize that his neice Penny is the only reason he's still alive and kicking.



Man.
Whoever it was who decided to redesign the transformers into anime characters WITH MOUTHS, for this craptastic 3d transformers cartoon thats on cartoon network at 6am really needs a slap. Its like pokemon. Complete with small children in hats being the focus instead of the bloody robots. A trainwreck.

Nothing to write about today really. Had a day off, worked on my Joey flash. And I drew one of my most favorite villains from one of those long-forgotten animated films.

He has nothing to do with the cartoon. He's just a random drawing I made in a couple of minutes. I think I'll make a little series of toylike animals with little soft cube bodies.




As you can see I'm moving out of my recent "everything is dark, violent, and gorey" mode and going back to a happier colorful time.

I have tomorrow off work. So perhaps I can get one of the most difficult bits of animation done tomorrow and then its smooth sailing.

The loan company for my college called me the other day. Nothing good came of that. I am really quite in debt. Maybe I should trade stocks. :/

Billy and Mandy will be coming to an end soon. It's had a very tumultuous life, going through a quite a few character redesigns, and Cartoon Network trying to cancel everything decent.

One of those few shows were only a tiny few episodes weren't great, with the majority being quite funny and, oddly, witty.
It began as a 2-part show called Grim and Evil which most people remember. Even though Hector con Carne no longer has his own show (which was a freaking great show) he still managed to show up in Billy and Mandy quite often.

And my personal favorite character, the seething and loathsome General Skarr, even became a regular character on Billy and Mandy.

But all that is ending in the next few weeks as the last few new episodes will air on Cartoon Network and the movies premier on TV (and hopefully make it to DVD).

I know one of the fellows behind the show has a new cartoon show premiering called "Chowder" which looks, thus far, odd and silly, which is what TV needs more of. But will it be as good as Billy and Mandy or Cow and Chicken? Or will it be a completely different offering that cant be compared to either of the aforementioned programs?

ONLY TIME WILL TELL.
But, being a long-time fan of the show, I felt I should express my "wuv"

On another note, that new 3d-animated anime transformers show is on and good god does it suck. :C

What an awful sound, bang bang.

An absolutely atrocious day at work with no lunch breaks and stupid drunk ugly college girls who wouldnt leave the store made me angry.

And you know what anger means? My creative side comes to life and I get the urge to draw.
