amber lamps.

An oddly busy time.

I recently got in my skatedeck to paint. Its for a charity that's hiring artists (and people like me) to design skate decks which they will then auction off. Problem right now isnt that I dont know what I want to paint on it, but that I'm not really sure what kind of paint to use. And if I have to put some sort of sealant on it afterwards like one does with pastels.
I'm going to need to google around and see if there's an easy way to do this or if I'm going to need some funky fancy chemicals to do this.

Principle shooting has begun on the first short film by me and my friends. Although it's mostly Mike, Alec, and Alicia doing the acting.
It's a parody/satire/homage/camel to Paranormal Activity. The little indy horror film made for very little money that made GREAT BIG BUCKS. We're not going for big bucks here, though. Just a few laughs. After seeing the original film, me and Mike couldnt stop cracking jokes about silly things the ghost/demon/spirit/camel COULD have done to the couple in the film.
Our film sort of takes that route. A small apartment complex in Florida is haunted by a ghost that isn't evil or even scary. It's just livin its life, man. And slightly annoying the people inside. And will cost even less money than the original made. So far the only $$$ we've spent is on fishing line used to make it seem like poltergeists are moving things around.

During filming Mike showed me a place that has quickly become one of my favorite new restaurants. A teeny tiny Indian place that has a Indian food buffet prepared by the very kindly owner. She cooks very well and sells all sorts of neat knick-knacks. Mike bought a giant brass Ganesh bust which he now keeps in his room.
The other half of this place is a marketplace stock full of goods from India and most of south asia.

The place is quite a treat, is priced well, the food is HOMEMADE and DELICIOUS as Indian food should be. Plus they have crazy imported sodas and mango ice creams and such.

The director of the Bone movie based on the incredible comic books of the same name FINALLY came out and said something about the film which EVERYONE has been desperately awaiting news on.

Unfortunately he said the complete opposite of what everyone wanted to hear.

"It's like Shrek meets Lord of the Rings"

Dear Fuckin God. Bone is so far from either Shrek or Lord of the Rings, that it makes me wonder what sort of ungodly Tank Girl quality raping of a good comic we will be in store for when this turkey takes flight.

Also the director is the same one directing the new Tom and Jerry film. Which of course will be live action and of course use CGI animals and of course the characters will be friends and talk and not hurt each other because the Director of these films does not give two dead dicks what the source material is.

In similar news, another amazing comic called Atomic Robo is getting an animated film based on it! And one that actually will have something to do with the comics! HOLY SHIT!

Also a new Muppet Movie is coming out. And it's by the same people who made "Flight of the Concords" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"
I'm excited! You should be as well. Because the Muppets haven't been in theatres since Muppets from Space which apparently nobody but me liked.

The latest episode of Goo's Got Talent hit youtube today.
I learned something very important from this episode. It is 1000 times harder to make a character juggle when they are made of symbols. I don't think I've ever been so frustrated. Eventually weebl helped me figure out a way of doing it by using Guide layers.

This episode also made me actually bother to go and research to find out what Geordies are.
Needless to say, I am very frightened.

Hey remember that great big thing I mentioned I had done for Zazzle that I couldn't talk about yet? Well I still can't! Wowie!
However, something else interesting happened today involving Zazzle and Sony. So I made them something. I wont post the finished product here, but you can see this Work-In-Progress I did.

It's done now. Colored, resized, redrawn, with some lyrics added. You might get to see it finished one day.

Speaking of Zazzle I had some odd occurrences occur to me oddly the last couple of days. The first thing was that my old friend and music meister Mentally Detached who did the music for pretty much every major cartoon I ever did, like Meat Grinder, Liquid, Squaresville, and Aftertaste, has appeared once again like a phantom in the night.
And oddly enough of all places, the idle server for Team Fortress I often leave myself sitting in for the sole purpose of trying to score free hats to adorn on my characters when I play.
He came into the server the other night and we talked for the first time in months.

Similarly, the other night as I was scrabbling around spamming voice commands in a fit of boredom, a random person wrote in the ingame chat: "A loaf of bread?"

To which I responded "Yes I am a loaf" (loaf of bread is my handle, ingame).

This person then responded "Are you ZekeySpaceyLizard?"

And I said "Maybe"

Never had that happen before. Having someone recognize me during gameplay. I had one guy do it before, but thats back when I still called myself ZekeySpaceyLizard while I played instead.

It was just weird to think that someone who reads this blog (and apparently has some of my shirts) randomly found me in a server running in little circles shouting "SPAH SARPIN MAH GOD DANGIT DOG GONE HELP"

Speakin of, the server I like to sit in, which is run by a merciless man with a cooking pot on his head named Default, has granted me some incredible luck in getting hats. You have like a .03% chance of getting a hat every few minutes. And I've managed to snag a few now.
I got the bald engineer randomly, as seen above. Then later crafted the Medic hat which I posted in a previous post. Then, randomly again, got ANOTHER bald engineer. So I then decided, since I dont need two, to craft a random hat. And I did and randomly crafted the Noble Amassment of Hats. (a top hat on top of a bowler cap). Satisfied, I kept both. Then, a Soldier Hat called the Stash (very reminiscent of the hat from the cover of Full Metal Jacket)dropped to me. Decided to keep it. THEN the Towering Pillar of hats came to me. (a bonnet, on a top hat, on a bowler)and so, since I didnt need the Noble Amassment, combined it with my second Bald hat and got the soda-can baseball helmet for the scout.
I am incredibly lucky these days in this game.

Cartoon Brew recently had a contest to make a caricature of a brute who sells fake art claiming its the original pieces. This is mine which I tossed together very quickly. Figured I'd post it here so it isn't lost in the sands of time like alot of things I painted which I can't find anymore.

That's about it, really.
I'm going to read some Arsenic Lullaby and then I'm going to go to bed.

Before I go I feel I should post this adorable pilot for a cartoon show that sadly never came to be. You really should watch this.

I added some new music to my music player. Mostly backround music from The Big O and Full Metal Alchemist. A bit of Mozart as well. Some Russian folksongs. Usual weird but catchy music I enjoy.

Speakin of, I got to see the first episode of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, fansubbed on Mike's PC.
Holy jesus crap balls. This show will be AMAZING. The original show was already one of the best anime's I'd seen, and this new one proceeds to raise the quality even further.

It's a real shame that Modifyers show didn't get accepted, it had a lot going for it. Though I have to say, I think the antagonists were stronger and more interesting than the protagonists. Going into agent zero's base was sort of like a blob of cold pudding being dropped into the spidery cobblestone world they'd already set up.
Overall it was still damn good though, and I really hope Chris has a successful pitch sometime in the near future.

Do you think you could throw out the IP for the server you idle on? I swear, I can't find one that can stay connected to Steam for more than twenty minutes...

That cartoon pilot was awesome.

specially the villain, he was so delightfully insane.
