stuffa you face

Happy America Week! Or whatever we call the days that occur right after the 4th of july. If we call them anything. Which I doubt we do.

It's been a busy week. Between doing work for my new job, and working on Polypeptide.
Speaking of, here's a short clip that I slung on youtube for no real reason.

It's been an interesting week for the entertainment industry as well.

The Last Airbender came out and apparently is a huge piece of shit. WOW! How surprising! A director that doesn't care about a series makes a movie based on it and ruins it beyond all possible recognition! Wowzers! Yabba Dabba Doo! Zoinks!
Whodathunkit?

The saddest part is I'm sure the financial and critical failure of this film will be blamed on the critically loved and rather successful animated series. Spoiling any chances of Nickelodeon giving the next Avatar series a decent budget. If it gets greenlit at all.

Considering the circumstances surrounding El Tigre's unfair cancellation, I can see a very likely scenario unfolding where Nick just kills the whole franchise dead to cover up their retarded shame of screwing it up with the movie SO badly.

The Engineer update is upon us. 3 years after the release of the game, Valve have finally begun to update the Engie class of Team Fortress 2. And the best part is it looks like the really DID recognize the annoyances and problems of the class.
The first two updates address his two main problems:
A.) without his sentry he is cannon fodder. action-engineers (ninjaneers), while a fun gameplay style, usually had you getting your ass handed to you eventually simply due to lack of any real power of that the power of surprise. which only works so many times. now I get a shotgun that rewards me for getting out in the field and getting kills and not just turtling.
B.) the sentry not getting smarter as the playerbase has. a newbie scout can kill a sentry these days. plus they have such short range. but now i can directly tell it where and who to shoot. yes. good times ahead.

I can't even imagine what other goodies they could possibly give us in the next two days. They've already found ways to fix grand popular annoyances. More Makani comics I hope.

And one great easter egg is that if you look at the old photos behind the blueprints in the update you'll find an image of the original low poly models from Team Fortress Classic. Theres even a great image of the Engineer from TFC giving his son (the current engineer) his iconic goggles.
It warms my heart to see Valve putting a bit of their own history into the game.

In other news, I keep finding myself ending up as a moderator of alot of popular Minecraft servers. And in one particularly peaceful map of one of the more rambunctious servers, I constructed a maze.
But not just any maze.

A huge horrible unholy giant maze. Dead ends upon dead ends. Loops upon loops. There is no true path out. Just trial and error. Oh and its impenetrable too. Even the ceiling regenerates if you try to cheat. Fun on the bun.

So, being the gentleman that I am, I recorded people going through it. And stuck it on Youtube. Huzzah. (watch in HD)

My good friend Hans gave me some great news over Skype! (yes I have Skype now, it's great!) His horror movie is getting funded! Like REALLY funded. He has two years to finish the script, storyboards, find locations and hire actors. He's extremely excited and he should be!
It's a really unique idea for a comedy horror film too. If I'm still alive by the time it comes out, I'm gonna plug the hell out of it all over the place.

After the 4th of July I made my friends Mike and John (who starred in that Paranormal Passivity film) sit down and watch perhaps the funniest shitty horror film I've seen in a while.

BIRDEMIC. (its about birds attacking people).

Here's a clip of some of the quality in this film:

Fixin their favorite dish. Yessir you wont find amazing songs like this in any old movie. Only in Birdemic.

Speakin of Paranormal Passivity. The sequel to PARANORMAL ACTIVITY has it's trailer online already. I think I'll wait til a bit of buzz is out and about before I put me and my friend's spoof of it on Youtube.

Here's an unrelated screenshot of Call of Pripyat.

If you play the game and look at that screenshot, you can see I carry alot of medicine on me. I don't like to die in this game. So even if I must sacrifice carrying bullets, I carry as many healthkits as I can manage. Especially with all the god damn Chimeras running around.

Anyway, I'm out of things to yammer about. So to end this post here's a video my friend John shot with his iphone. It's a massive migration of crabs at a local beach.

btw: heres a good idea. buy a bottle of Frank's Red Hot Sauce and pour it all over a pizza with lots of sausage. Thank me later.

Someone should tell the makers of Birdemic that Alfred Hitchcock stole their idea.
