for god's sake, stop the feces

Fangoria keeps interviewing the filmmakers of the new horror flick "Quarantine" which is a remake of another film.
The filmmakers keep discussing how they are trying not to ruin what made the original film "REC" so good. Gee where have I heard this before? Oh with every other god-awful horror movie remake thats come out in the last 6 years.
Can we stop the madness?

I'm so SO tired of seeing remakes of horror films every year where the director and writers seem to have forgotten what made the original flick scary in the first place.

HEY FELLAS, IN THE ORIGINAL FLICK, ITS SCARY BECAUSE THE GHOST LIVES IN THE TELEPHONE. SO IN OUR VERSION, LETS HAVE THE TELEVISIONS TURN INTO MONSTERS THAT CHASE PEOPLE DOWN AND EAT THEM. AND LETS FILL IT WITH CONTORTIONISTS AND CHICKS WITH FAKE TITS. FUCK YEAH

budget: 2 million
box office: 20,000 bucks

WHY DID OUR MOVIE FLOP I DONT GET IT ARGH

And there seems to be no end to them. Someone is remaking The Birds.
How long til we get to see a horrid remake of The Thing or Ichi the Killer. Long after the original directors are cold in the ground? Or when FOX and LionsGate realize they have no big releases for the halloween season?

For a while now, my good friend Mike, has been trying to get me to go to a club in Ybor called the castle.

His description of it was "it looks like those crazy nightclubs from the matrix and Blade"

I've mostly avoided the place because it has a cover charge to go in. I make it a priority to avoid places that charge me cash to go inside. I'm not much of a partygoer and dont go clubbin hardly ever, so if I do, I want to be certain I am spending as little money as possible.

So I went inside the castle. And it was indeed as Mike described it. Neo-goth enthusiasm, mixed with loud industrial music, and hot girls in corsets everywhere. And me in my jeans and Bucs shirt.

While there they played alot of loud techno and house music. They played Laibach. And later they played a wonderful cover of "They're Coming to Take Me Away HaHa" by a band called Neurotic Fish whom I'd never heard of.
It was a good night.
Sonya and the gang had remembered my birthday and we had delicious ice cream.
The next day it was Natasha's birthday party so we all went. Free booze and pretty much everyone I knew who hadnt moved away by now attended. Except Joey of course whom spends his nights playing Warcraft and pretending he is not.

As I sit here listening to some nurse with wound and pondering over the events of the last few days I suddenly have remembered that I made a new painting.
Fanart for my favorite video game series. The series that first inspired me to try drawing and is still fun to play.

A scene from the N64 game. Probably the hardest level in the game. And in terms of creativity, the coolest. Full of eye candy. Giant computers, lasers, creatures floating in tubes, robots with hammers, robots carrying boxes, falling ceilings, pits of lava, giant flaming birds, living plugs, giant tin toy robots, and the list goes on.

Florida has many strange animals. And I've seen many of them. Wild iguanas, wild parrots, wild monkeys, wild dolphins, wild gators, wild GIANT boat-sized rays, wild sharks, wild cougars, and wild alligators.

Now I have a new one to add to the list.

The other day I was scribbling away when I noticed something black bouncing around the backyard.
It seemed mammalian so I assumed it was a squirrel and paid it no heed.

It was no squirrel

Yes.

I have a OTTER living in the LAKE in my BACKYARD

WHAT

I didnt even know otters lived in florida. Dont they eat clams? I KNOW there's nothing living in that lake. It is infertile as lakes come.

It is clearly a spy.

A robot spy.

And with god as my witness, I shall have vengeance.

Sea Otters eat clamsand oysters. I'm not sure what river otters eat, probably other small invertebrates or small fish.

Otters are awesome.

Also, remakes and sequels are more "financially sound" to big studios since there's an established fanbase.

See: Shrek 2, Shrek 3, Shrek 4, Shrek 5, Shrek 6
